Last weekend my hubby and I spent the weekend with my family and got to experience our nephew Bennett's first Easter with him. Here are a few highlights from the weekend:
This is Benny's smile that he gives when you ask him to smile. This was a definite highlight to see it in person finally....and to capture it on camera! After I had taken some shots of him and put the camera on the table...he kept on pointing to my camera and doing his "smile" for me. Hint hint. ADORABLE!
My next highlight was getting to completely relax and hang out with family...and even got to spend a late night with a really good friend talking for hours and watching a movie (what we do best)! (Above: Benny is showing you here how to relax, while doing his serious model pose.)
Another highlight was witnessing Bennett's very first Easter egg hunt! I'm not gonna lie, part of me wished I was participating in the hunt! Maybe next year ;-) He loved it and got the concept quite well, especially after Uncle Ry had trained him over the weekend to know that good things like marshmallows, cookies, and cheese puffs come in plastic eggs. (Above: Bennett enjoys blowing bubbles with Nonnie and opening the eggs in his basket. He is happy despite the facial expression in the bubble pic. ha!)
Okay, do I really need to say why this was a highlight for me? My mom and sister made these amazing desserts...yum. We all know I LOVE sweets....and now the gym will be seeing a lot of me this week because of it! It was worth every bite.
Lastly, but certainly not least....a highlight was being reminded that I serve a God who died and rose again for us all....who took my sin upon himself so that I can be in restored relationship with God...forgiven. Having learned this about Jesus when I was a wee one, it's easy for Easter to come and go without really letting the weight of this truth set in. Such a good reminder and much to contemplate on. I am blessed!
That looks like a fun weekend! Bennett is growing up so fast. He is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to practice before the big Easter egg hunt. I bet that was fun to watch too.
Wow, those desserts look amazing! That last picture is so tempting with the sliver of lime on there. (if it was a lime)
Who got to eat the Chocolate Jesus?
